T-Pain Says Future Writes Great Music But Doesn’t Understand Auto-Tune
T-Pain commends Future’s songwriting abilities but says the Atlanta rapper doesn’t know how to use auto-tune correctly.
T-Pain is famous for his artistic use of the pitch-correcting technology also known as auto-tune on his records and recently lashes out at the up-and-coming rapper Future. The rapper/singer commented on the Bugatti used in the video for the Ace Hood track “Bugatti” that Future sings the hook on. He also alluded to the fact that Future is jacking his style and refers to him tactlessly as “The New T-Pain”.

T-Pain called into Hartford’s Hot 93.7 to discuss his recent comments by stating that he respects the songwriting ability of the rapper from Pluto, but he insists that Future is using his favorite vocal effect improperly.
“I don’t think Future gets the technology… I don’t think he understands how it actually works. He’s writing great songs– he’s a great writer– as far as how he uses Auto-Tune… I think he’s thinking you just turn it on, and it happens.”
“A lot of people don’t sing with it, they just sing and put it on after, which is a terrible mistake. There’s a lot of stuff you’ve gotta know about Auto-Tune before you can start using it, because it’s the hot thing to do. But Future’s still great, he’s doing his thing.”
T-Pain also confirms that his new album, Stoicville: The Phoenix will be dropping soon. ”Come & Get It” will be the first single from this album.
