Mac Miller releases his Official Mixtape Delusional Thomas, Presented by Most Dope. The 10-track tape has Features from Earl Sweatshirt, Da$h, Bill and more. The entire project is produced by Mac’s other alter-ego, Larry Fisherman.
Mac Miller‘s alter-ego, Delusional Thomas, drops off a self titled mixtape. The 10-track mixtape is full of gloomy beats and vivid, crude lyricism with featured guest appearances from Earl Sweatshirt, Da$h, & Bill. The entire project is produced by Mac‘s other alter-ego, Larry Fisherman. Always one to be different, Mac Miller decides to give the release a spin as he assumes the persona of his alter-ego, Delusional Thomas, which is who the mixtape is named after. Delusional Thomas can be heard on ”The Star Room“ off the Mac Miller sophomore LP Watching Movies With The Sound Off.
Mac Miller transforms to a new alter-ego named Delusional Thomas. A character who raps with a high-pitched sped up voice, Delusional Thomas debuts his first official project with a self-titled mixtape. The mixtape kicks off with helium-huffing verses from the mean-mouthed alter ego about being pure evil and rocking a tattoo of baby Jesus on his foreskin. Gunfire, murky slow-mo beats and horror-score synth stabs support the violent lines of “Vertigo“. To make things extra interesting about the nature of the tape, closing track “Grandpa Used to Carry a Flask” has Delusional Thomas teaming up with Mac Miller, who join forces to rap atop the melancholy piano beat supplied by his producer alter ego Larry Fisherman.
Delusional Thomas appears to be Mac‘s vocals pitched up rapping, with evidence for this coming in the mixtape’s artwork. The artwork shows Mac Miller putting his fingers over his nostrils, which would produce a high-pitched voice. Mac Miller himself shows up with his regular voice on the mixtape’s closing song, “Grandpa Used To Carry A Flask“. Delusional Thomas finds Mac Miller in a distorted haze with a lot of horrorcore stuck between his brain and he has a band of merry friends including Earl Sweatshirt & Da$h to tag along. Delusional Thomas is a much unexpected trip to the darkside than anyone could’ve ever hoped for.
Mac Miller is highly creative and nothing to be slept on no matter which alter ego he decides to brings out. Similar to Eminem’s evil twin Slim Shady, everything about this project is very dark, very haunting and impossibly captivating. Follow on Twitter @MacMiller @TreeJTV @MedievalBeatz Rap Beats For Sale
