The Atlanta, Georgia-based producer Bangladesh has released his latest project, Ponzi Scheme. He supplies the project with 30 tracks, featuring a plethora of skits. Guests features include Pusha T, Birdman, 2 Chainz, ASAPY Rocky, Cyhi Tha Prynce, Future, Trinidad James, and many more.
Shondrae Crawford, better known by his stage names Bangladesh and Mr. Bangladesh, is a Grammy Award-winning American record producer, disc jockey (DJ) and rapper, who was born and raised in Des Moines, Iowa, and now lives in Atlanta, Georgia.
Bangladesh began producing beats in 1998, but his first big break did not come until 2000 with his production of the hit single, “What’s Your Fantasy” for Ludacris, with whom he then worked with many times afterward. In respect to his name, he’s said he chose the name Bangladesh because he describes his keyboard-centric production style as “Bangladesh“: “It’s just Bangladesh. It’s foreign to the ears.”
He worked with Lil Wayne, producing one of his most successful singles – “A Milli“. He also produced the beat behind Gucci Mane‘s song Lemonade, which went on to be remixed or freestyled over by many artists, including Yelawolf, Curren$y, Tyler the Creator, Earl Sweatshirt, and Big Sean. He also produced Wayne‘s hit 2011 song “6 Foot 7 Foot“, featuring Cory Gunz, and he has produced for Ludacris, Beyoncé, Ke$ha, Usher, Nicki Minaj, T-Pain, Bad Meets Evil, Ice Cube, and many other artists.
While the 30-song tracklist features 13 “Ponzi Scheming” skits, the record also features new tunes like the Baby- and 2 Chainz-assisted “Phantom“, which blends Bach‘s ooky organ Toccata with a thick and meaty boom bap. Elsewhere on the mix, you have A$AP Rocky dropping a verse on a remix Rihanna’s “Cockiness“, as well as songs featuring Trinidad James, Pusha T, Gucci Mane, Future, Alley Boy and more.
