To go along with their talent on offense, the Buffalo Bills also have a good young defense head lined by their Newest member Mario Williams coming over from the Houston Texans as a free agent. Williams a former Number three overall pick after Reggie Bush and Vince Young, was suppose to be their defensive savior. Hopefully he will turn into Super Mario in 2013, because he was far from that in 2012. I pray he is not the next Alvin Harper. Harper left the great Dallas Cowboys after a Super Bowl season to join the Tampa Bay Bucs and he ended up being the biggest free agent bust in NFL history. I think Williams can help them. He was a number three pick, he is a great athlete and he ran 4.4 or 4.3ish 40 yard dash at the NFL Combine. The talent is their Mario just lacks the drive and focus. I believe Doug Marrone will be the guy to light that fire!
In the secondary they have rookie cornerback Stephon Gilmore from South Carolina and the All Pro safety Jairus Byrd. Byrd a two time All Pro and a one time Pro Bowler. This was Byrd’s fourth season and he is already a two time All Pro. Byrd is young and full of talent a second generation NFL player, so he knows the game well. Why the Buffalo Bills had a losing season I don’t know? The New York Jets gave up this year. They lost their identity. The Dolphins had a Rookie Quarterback and a First year head coach. The division was there’s for the taking. They just had to beat the Patriots one time and they could have had a playoff spot. They proved they could play with the Pats when they beat them in 2011. Losing to the Patriots is like falling off a bike; it is just something that has to happen. The rest of the division was weak instead of out playing the completion; they played down to their level. With the team they had and the talent I felt they would have been an easy fifth seed in this year’s playoffs. The Bills were just as talented as the Colts or The Bengals they just did not want it. They did have better coaching but in 2013 that want be the case. As far as Quarterback play I think Marrone is going to take Ryan Fitzpatrick to new Heights with his Offensive genius. The Buffalo Bills had a bad year but their future looks brighter than ever. They have not been in the playoffs since Wade Phillips. In time Marrone will be the Coach to take them to the next level.
